Downtown Princeton is always a good idea—but with Rachel and Xavier, it felt especially effortless.
We started their engagement session tucked into one of Princeton’s quiet parks just before sunset, where the light filtered through the trees in that perfect golden way. It was soft, warm, and romantic, exactly the kind of setting that lets a couple just be together. Rachel and Xavier eased into it instantly, laughing, walking hand in hand, and soaking up the moment without overthinking a thing. Those first portraits felt natural and intimate, like a slow exhale.
Halfway through, they transitioned into a second look which completely elevated the session. Rachel changed into a chic, timeless dress while Xavier stepped into a tailored suit, and suddenly the vibe shifted from soft and romantic to refined and editorial.
We made our way onto the campus of Princeton University, where the historic architecture created the most stunning backdrop. The textured stone, archways, and grand facades added depth and drama in the best way. Every corner felt like a new scene effortlessly blending classic East Coast elegance with a modern, fashion-forward edge.
What made this session stand out wasn’t just the locations or the wardrobe change, it was how seamlessly Rachel and Xavier moved between the two energies. They’re equal parts relaxed and polished, playful and poised, and it translated beautifully in every frame.
I’m already counting down to their wedding later this year at Crystal Point Yacht Club. If this session was any preview, it’s going to be such a stunning, joy-filled day on the water!
